The deal, in plain terms

These terms cover using Disposabl — the app, this website, and the albums we host. They describe what the product actually does today, including the things it deliberately refuses to do. Using Disposabl as a host or a guest means accepting them.
The short version
An event is one shared disposable camera. You get a finite roll and one film look, nothing is visible until the event develops, and the host pays once for the event rather than subscribing. You keep your photos. We host them so the people who were there can see them.
What Disposabl is
A host creates an event and pays once for it. Guests join by QR code or link and shoot a fixed number of frames through a single film look chosen for that event. At the develop time, the whole roll reveals at once as a shared album.
The constraints are the product, not limitations we intend to remove. By using Disposabl you accept that:
The roll is finite
Each event has a frame limit, and each guest has a share of it. When your frames are used, they are used. Our server keeps the count — the app cannot grant you more.
There is no preview and no retake
You do not see a frame after you shoot it. There is no review screen, no delete-and-reshoot, and no way to check what you got before the reveal.
One film look per event
The host picks the look when they create the event. It applies to every frame, and it cannot be changed mid-event or swapped afterwards. There is no filter picker and no editing beyond the event’s look.
The reveal is set by our server, not your device
Albums are refused until the event’s develop time passes. Changing your device clock, reinstalling, or using a different phone will not open an album early.
Some events are configured to reveal photos as they are shot instead of waiting. The host chooses that when they create the event, and guests can see which mode an event is in before shooting.
Hosts and guests
Disposabl has two kinds of people, with different responsibilities.
Hosts
Sign in with Google, Apple, or an emailed one-time code, and hold an account. A host creates the event, pays for it, sets the film look and the develop time, and is responsible for who they invite and for moderating what appears in their event.
Guests
Join without an account. There is no sign-up and we do not ask for an email address. Joining creates a per-event identity so your frames are attributed to you inside that one event, and nothing more.
You must be at least 13 to use Disposabl. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use it only with a parent or guardian’s permission.
Paying for an event
Hosts pay once per event. There is no subscription and no recurring charge. What the fee buys is capacity — how many guests the event admits — at the price shown when you buy.
Where you buy changes who processes it
Buying inside the iOS or Android app goes through Apple or Google’s in-app purchase. Buying on the web goes through Stripe. Either way the event is unlocked by our server, so the unlock follows the event rather than the device or the store you bought from.
Prints are a separate purchase
Prints and photo books are physical goods, ordered and paid for separately from the event fee, and shipped to an address you give us. They are priced by what you order rather than at a fixed tier.
Refunds
Purchases made through Apple or Google are refunded under that store’s policy, and requests go to them rather than to us. For anything bought on the web, or a print order that arrives damaged or wrong, write to us at the address below.
Your photos
The photos you shoot are yours. We host them so the event can work, and we do not sell them, license them to anyone, or use them to train machine-learning models.
A roll is shared by design. Frames you shoot become part of that event’s album and are visible to the other people in that event once it develops. That is the point of the product, and it is worth being deliberate about: shoot for an event only if you are content for the people in that event to see it.
If you delete your account, frames you already contributed stay in the albums of events you joined, attributed to nobody. A shared roll belongs to everyone who was in the room, and removing one person’s frames would punch holes in other people’s memories of the night. Delete individual frames first if you want them gone as well. The privacy policy covers this in full.
What you agree not to do
Do not use Disposabl to shoot, upload, or share:
Anything illegal
Most seriously, any sexual content involving a minor. We report child sexual abuse material to the authorities and preserve the associated records.
Anything taken without consent
Photographs of people in a private setting who have not agreed to be photographed, or images intended to harass, threaten, or humiliate someone.
Anything that is not yours to share
Content that infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark, or privacy.
Do not attempt to work around the constraints above — reading an album before its reveal, exceeding a roll’s frame limit, or getting past an event’s guest capacity. These are enforced by our server and circumventing them is a breach of these terms.
Moderation, and what actually happens
These are the controls that exist in the product, not aspirations.
Anyone in an event can report a frame
Every frame in a revealed album has a report action, available to the host and to guests alike. Reports go to our staff for review.
Blocking hides someone from your view
Blocking another person removes their frames from the album as you see it. It does not remove them for anyone else — that is what reporting and host removal are for.
Hosts control their own event
A host can remove any frame from their event and can ban a guest from it. They are responsible for their event and are expected to act on what they are told about.
We can take content down
Our staff can remove a frame or an entire event, and can suspend an account, when something breaches these terms or the law. Staff access to photos is limited to responding to a report or a legal obligation, and every such action is logged.
Report anything urgent to the address below. We aim to respond within one business day, and sooner to reports of illegal or abusive content. The support page explains how to report from inside the app.
Ending it
Hosts can delete their account from the app’s settings. Deletion is immediate and permanent — there is no recovery window. One restriction applies: you cannot delete your account while you are still hosting an event that has not yet revealed, because guests may be waiting on a reveal only you control. Develop the event first, then delete.
We can suspend or close an account that breaches these terms. Where it is safe and lawful to do so we will say why. Records of a completed purchase outlive the account, because we are required to keep proof of a transaction for tax and reconciliation.
What we promise, and what we don't
We run Disposabl carefully, but it is provided as it is. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, that a push notification will always arrive, or that a photo can never be lost. The album is the record — a notification is only an announcement of it.
Keep your own copies of anything you cannot bear to lose. Disposabl is a way to shoot and share an event, not a backup service.
What this page does not cover yet
Three things belong in terms of service and are deliberately absent rather than guessed at: the precise licence you grant us and the host when you contribute a photo, the legal entity and governing law behind this service, and the formal limitation-of-liability language.
They are with our lawyers. We would rather leave them blank than publish a legal position we invented — and nothing above depends on them. When they are settled they will appear here and the date at the top will move.
Changes
If these terms change we will update this page and move the date at the top. Material changes will be signalled in the app rather than made quietly. Continuing to use Disposabl after a change means accepting the updated terms.
